The manufacturing process of lithium-ion batteries is highly complex, divided into front-end (electrode manufacturing), middle-end (cell assembly), and back-end (formation, testing, and pack integration) stages. In each of these stages, stainless steel adjustable feet perform critical functions:
In the front-end stage, active materials are coated onto copper or aluminum foils and then compressed (calendered) to achieve the desired density and thickness. The calendering machine exerts immense pressure on the foils.
